Hanging From a Height of 60m Under the Burning Sun – The Heart of “Spider-Man”
22/09/2022
Saigon’s weather is erratic with sunshine and rain around August and September. Every day the sun is so hot that your face turns red, every day it rains, the wind is strong enough to knock down trees. The weather is not pleasing. Yet whether it’s sunny or rainy, there are still people who are not afraid to hang themselves from a height of 60m to do dangerous but very important work to ensure the beauty of high-rise buildings.
Adhering to the profession of “spider”, working as a glass cleaner in high-rise buildings for more than ten years, Uncle Son – one of the veteran employees of Clean House, still haunts the scorching heat of Saigon every time. floating high above.
The fate that brought him to this dangerous profession, Mr. Son shared that he could never forget the feeling he had the first time he climbed down from the roof of the building. My limbs are weak, my heart is pounding, I’m afraid that if I make a mistake I will lose my life. Yet, only the second time did he begin to feel the excitement of this risky job.
When I swing from above, I am also the one who both beautifies the city and watches the bustling life from a “very different” perspective than most people.
“There is no job without difficulty and suffering. Earning money to take care of your family is the most important thing,” Mr. Son shared.
Not everyone can undertake this job. Clean House’s “Spider-Man” must meet the criteria of health, meticulousness, discipline and dedication to work. Uncle Son also added that “when I do the job of cleaning glass on the outside, I have to ensure and check safety strictly, because in this job, one mistake is a mile. When all protective equipment is safe, you should proceed to swing safely.”
On summer days, looking outside at the harsh 30-40 degree sun, I suddenly felt admiration for the working spirit of the formidable “spider people”. While we can sit and work in modern, clean offices, out there, floating in the sky, are the silent contributions of many people.
What profession is not noble? As long as you have the heart to do the job and have a sense of meaning for the job, no matter who you are? What? are still people worthy of respect.
Through just a short conversation, we admire the spirit of the Clean House workers. Silent heroes help beautify life through courage, constant effort and not being afraid to suffer.
Wishing Mr. Son, as well as the “spider people” working across the country, good health to stick with the profession for a long time, contributing to cleaning up the country’s urban landscape.
